AANS Research Scholarship

AANS 2010 Research Scholarship ($2,000.00)

Applicant Information: Applicants must be full-time graduate students and submit the following:

1. a proposal of at least two pages;

2. a timetable;

3. a budget;

4. two letters of recommendation;

5. a curriculum vitae;

6. a set of transcripts

The proposal should establish the scholarly contribution and significance of the project, its relevance to the applicant¹s professional goals, and progress already made.

Applications for the academic year 2009-2010 must reach the AANS president by March 10, 2010. (Please note: incomplete applications will, by default, not be considered!).

The selection committee will consist of members of the Executive Council of the AANS and the scholarship recipient will be notified by, or before, March 30.

About AANS

AANS is an interdisciplinary organization that promotes the study of the language, literature and culture of the Dutch-speaking world in the United States.

The organization maintains contact among persons engaged in teaching and research in the field of Netherlandic Studies, which includes the language, literature, art, music, history and contemporary civilization of the Netherlands, Flanders, Suriname, the Netherlands Antilles and areas where the historical influence of Dutch culture is in evidence today, such as South Africa and Indonesia.

Furthermore, AANS provides opportunity for the dissemination of information, exchange of ideas, discussion of common problems and diffusion of scholarly knowledge in areas related to her purpose.
